|The First China-ROK Dialogue on Diplomacy and Security at the Director-General Level Held in Beijing|
On December 23, 2013, the first China-ROK Dialogue on Diplomacy and Security at the Director-General Level was held in Beijing. Luo Zhaohui, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and Park Jun-won, Director-General for Northeast Asian Affairs Bureau of the ROK Foreign Ministry co-chaired the dialogue, which was attended by officials from the two countries' Foreign Ministries and Defense Ministries. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern, and unanimously agreed to further enhance bilateral strategic communication and all-round cooperation in a bid to safeguard peace, stability and development in the region.
To hold the China-ROK Dialogue on Diplomacy and Security is a consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries during ROK President Park Geun-hye's visit to China this June.
