|Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui Meets with Egyptian Non-governmental Delegation|
On December 6, 2013, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with an Egyptian non-governmental delegation composed of some former important Egyptian government members and representatives of political parties, religious groups and the media.
Zhang Yesui said that the development of the China-Egypt relations is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples. China always cherishes the friendship between the peoples of China and Egypt, respects the right of the Egyptian people to independently choose their political system and development path, and supports Egypt's efforts in maintaining stability, developing economy and improving people's livelihood. China hopes that all parties concerned in Egypt could reconcile divergences and build up consensus so as to promote the process of inclusive political transition. China is willing to make joint efforts with the Egyptian side to continuously advance the China-Egypt friendly cooperative relations.
The Egyptian side introduced the current situation in Egypt and said that the roadmap of the political transition in Egypt is moving forward smoothly, and that the current situation approaches stabilization. People from all circles in Egypt hope to strengthen strategic cooperation with China, and expect China would provide more support to Egypt in fields such as politics, economy and trade and tourism.
