Charge d'affair and Political Consular Ren Faqiang attend the Opening Ceremony for the Completion of A9 Road Project in Northern Province

On June 15, 2013, Sri Lanka President Rajapaksa, together with Charge d'affair and Political Counsellor Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Embassy, cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony for the completion of A9 road reconstruction project held by Sri Lankan Government at Kilinochchi, Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

The reconstruction project for the 154-Kilometer war-torn road is financed by Chinese Governmental loan and constructed by China Aero Technology International Construction Company (CATIC), with the cooperation of Sri Lankan Comanies Maga and ICC. This road project created 3000 jobs for the local people in its 30-month construction period and will facilitate the smooth transfer of personels and goods between Northern and Central Sri Lanka, thus promoting the economic and social development in these areas.
