Chinese Ambassador H.E. Yi Xianliang Calls upon Vice Chairman of SLFP and Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Hon. Rajitha Senaratne

On 3 March, 2015, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka H.E. Yi Xianliang called upon Vice Chairman of SLFP and Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Hon. Rajitha Senaratne. The two sides had friendly discussions on China-Sri Lanka relations, inter-party exchanges and cooperation in health area, etc..

H.E. Yi Xianliang expressed that China attaches great importance to the development of China-Sri Lanka relationship, and is willing to be a trustworthy and reliable friend and partner of Sri Lanka. The Chinese President, H.E. Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Sri Lanka in September last year and achieved fruitful accomplishments. The Chinese side is willing to implement well the outcomes of this visit, expand pragmatic cooperation in various areas together with the Sri Lankan side, so as to promote the constant development of the China-Sri Lanka Strategic Cooperative Partnership. China is willing to continue to provide support to Sri Lanka's economic and social development within its capability. China and Sri Lanka have broad prospect for cooperation in health area. The relevant agencies of both sides can strengthen cooperation, so as to benefit local people.

Hon. Rajitha Senaratne welcomed the assumption of office of by H.E. Ambassador Yi Xianliang and said, the friendship between the two countries can be traced back to long time ago. China is Sri Lanka's sincere friend and good partner. Sri Lanka is grateful for the generous assistance provided by China in the past decades for Sri Lanka's economic and social development. The Sri Lankan side wishes to further enhance the cooperation in medical and health area between the two countries.
